Setting up your Skybrary classroom involves two main steps: rostering your students and then preparing your classroom computers for easy sign-in.

Step 1: Add Students to Your Roster You can add students in two ways:

  • For Clever Users: You can roster your students automatically by connecting Skybrary with Clever. Please ensure you contact your District Administrator.
  • For Non-Clever Users (Manually): Sign in to your Teacher Dashboard, navigate to the "Class Roster" tab, and click "Add Students." From there, you can either upload a .CSV file or add students one by one.

Step 2: Set Up Classroom Computers To create a quick-access bookmark for student sign-in, follow these steps on each computer:

  1. Sign in to your Teacher Dashboard.
  2. Find the Bookmark Creator tool on the dashboard.
  3. Select your classroom name and click "Go to Student Sign In."
  4. Bookmark this new page in the computer's browser.
  5. Return to the Teacher Dashboard and log out.

Yes. Every student receives their own unique login, whether you are on a free trial or a paid plan. This allows them to access Skybrary anytime and enables the platform to track each student's individual reading progress.

Subscriptions are active for the full term and cannot be paused or frozen. Skybrary is available for student and teacher access year-round, including during school breaks.

You can cancel the auto-renewal of your subscription at any time through your account dashboard. This will prevent any future charges, and your access will continue until the end of your current subscription period.

Please note that subscriptions are non-refundable after purchase. We encourage all educators to use the 30-day free trial to ensure Skybrary is the right fit for your classroom before purchasing.

Yes, absolutely. When you upgrade from a free trial to a paid plan, all of your account information, including your class roster and each student's reading history, is saved. Your students can continue their reading journey without interruption.

With a paid subscription, you and your students have 24/7 access to Skybrary from most iOS and Android (coming in Fall 2025) supported devices with an internet connection.

If you have ten classrooms or more, the School Subscription Bundle is a 10% discount off ten (10) Classroom Subscriptions. This bundle has up to 350 student seats.

If the issue persists, please contact our support team at support@skybrary.org.

If the Skybrary app isn’t working, please check the following:

  • Confirm that your app is updated to the latest version.
  • If it is the latest version, try restarting your device.

If you continue to experience issues, please contact us at support@skybrary.org for assistance.

If you are unable to find specific books or videos, please check the following:

  • Did you misspell a keyword or search term on the app? If you are searching through our free books on the web, is there a filter applied on the search (i.e. lexile, grade)?
  • Is the book or video part of a promotional island that’s no longer live?

If you have checked the following, try refreshing the app or the browser.

If you continue to experience issues, please contact us at support@skybrary.org for assistance.

Video problems are often related to school network settings or local computer audio.

If Videos Won't Play: This may be due to a school firewall blocking video streaming. Skybrary videos are hosted on Vimeo, so please ask your IT department to ensure Vimeo is not blocked on your network.

If You Can't Hear Audio:

  • Check that the computer's volume is turned up and not muted.
  • Ensure speakers are on and that no headphones are plugged in.
  • If the issue continues, check the computer's general sound settings or hardware.

Please contact us at support@skybrary.org for assistance.

If you have trouble saving a book to a student's backpack for offline reading, please try these troubleshooting steps:

  • On the Web: Log out of your account, then log back in.
  • On a Tablet/App: Force close the app completely, then restart it.
  • Check Storage: Ensure your device has at least 500 MB of free storage space.
  • Save One at a Time: Try saving just one book to see if it completes successfully.
  • Keep the App Active: While saving, keep the Skybrary app open in the foreground and temporarily disable your device's auto-lock or sleep mode.

If the issue persists, please contact us at support@skybrary.org for assistance.

If you were able to save your books but unable to see them online, please check the following:

  • Ensure that the book was added to the backpack while online.
  • Ensure that the app is updated and logged in to the correct user.
  • Ensure that the device is not set to low-date or airplane mode when the book is being saved.

If the problem persists, please reconnect to the internet, re-download the book to the backpack, and confirm that your backpack is synced before going offline.

A bulk upload can fail for several reasons. Here are the most common causes and solutions.

Common Reasons for Failure:

  • Email addresses are incomplete or formatted incorrectly (e.g., missing "@" or ".com").
  • A teacher's email is already associated with a personal Skybrary subscription or a parent account.
  • A teacher's account is already linked to another classroom or administrator in the system.

How to Resolve: Before uploading, double-check your .CSV file for data errors and confirm with teachers if they have pre-existing accounts and if they do, we recommend setting Skybrary up with a new email account. If issues persist, please contact our customer service team at support@skybrary.org for direct assistance.

From the main island navigation screen, students can log out by clicking the Exit Icon located in the top-right corner and then selecting the Sign Out button on the popup to log out.

(Please note: This process may change with future app updates.)

The Educator Dashboard is only available on the website at skybrary.org. It is not currently supported in the iOS or Android app.

Educators | Skybrary + Clever Users

Getting started with Skybrary through Clever is managed directly through your District's Clever portal.

  1. Request a Connection: Log in to your Clever account, search for the Skybrary app, and request to add it for your district.
  2. Arrange Payment: After you are connected, please email support@skybrary.org for a quote or assistance with a Purchase Order.
  3. Wait for Approval: Once payment has been approved, our team will work with your district to approve the connection. You will receive an email with further instructions once this is complete. Clever connections can take up to at least 2 business days.

Please do not purchase a subscription directly from the Skybrary website, as all billing for Clever-integrated accounts must be handled separately.

Once setup is complete, you and your students can access Skybrary directly through the Clever portal with no separate login required.

The setup process for connecting Skybrary with Clever typically takes at least 2 business days after you request the connection in your portal. We will notify you by email as soon as it's ready.

Please plan accordingly, and feel free to reach out to support@skybrary.org if you have any questions during the setup period.

Yes. Once Skybrary is successfully connected to your district's Clever account, your students can sign in directly from their Clever portal using their existing Clever logins. No separate usernames or passwords are required.

If you experience any trouble with linking your account or other technical issues related to Clever, please contact our support team directly at support@skybrary.org. We will be happy to guide you through the troubleshooting process to ensure a smooth connection.

Families | Content & Features

Skybrary is best suited for children in PreK to Fourth Grade, covering a wide range of early reading levels.

However, because reading skills vary, many older children also enjoy the library. Furthermore, features like “Read To Me” are designed to support a variety of learning needs. This helps ensure that students who benefit from read-aloud stories can confidently enjoy the same books as their peers, fostering a greater sense of belonging in the learning community.

Your subscription includes unlimited online reading, so there is no limit to how many books your child can enjoy with an internet connection.

For offline access, your child can save up to 5 books at a time in their digital Backpack. After finishing a book, they can easily return it and choose a new one the next time they are online.

Your family dashboard includes updated information to help you stay involved in your child's reading journey. You can track their activity, including which books they've completed and their total time spent reading.

If you wish to assign books for your child, you can do this on the app. Simply go to your child’s profile on the Skybrary app, select specific books and add them directly to your child's backpack to encourage them to read certain titles.

The "Read To Me" feature is an option available for every book in our library. When activated, a narrator reads the story aloud with engaging read-along highlighting for your child to follow. This helps build reading confidence, improve comprehension, and allows children to enjoy stories independently.

Yes, child safety and privacy are our top priorities. We do not display advertisements, nor do we sell any private data to third parties. You can learn more by reviewing our Privacy Policy.
