A Shared Mission

Skybrary is powered by Reading Is Fundamental (RIF), the nation’s leading children’s literacy nonprofit. Unlock a world of stories for your child, and help get books and reading resources into the hands of children across the United States, especially those in under-resourced communities.

A Nation of Lifelong Readers

For almost 60 years, RIF has been dedicated to ensuring that every child has the chance to read, learn, and succeed. Reading Is Fundamental works to disrupt the alarming U.S. literacy crisis by inspiring the joy of reading in children, a critical element to driving the frequency, motivation, and engagement needed to create skilled readers. We know that if we build a foundation of joy for children, then development, discovery, and opportunity follow.

What We Do

RIF’s research-backed solutions inspire the joy of reading in children, deepening their motivation to read and setting them on a path to become proficient readers.

Through Skybrary and other reading programs and resources, we provide an integrated approach to literacy—ensuring access to books, engaging reading content, and essential resources for children, educators, and families nationwide.

RIF is committed to providing Skybrary to schools and classrooms across the country. Currently over 4,500 teachers trust in Skybrary.
